Clothing designed for British weather!

Clothing designed for British weather!
When we started Manumit, we wanted to create the perfect layer for our home environment, and Britain is a surprisingly difficult place to achieve that goal.

Many of the outdoor brands we know and love were born in places with very different conditions to ours. Consistent cold or endless dry heat, for example. Above all, predictable. But Britain is different.

As anyone who has spent much time on our local stomping ground of Dartmoor knows, you can leave home under blue skies, get soaked an hour later, be hailed on the hour after that, then find yourself sweating your way up a climb and shivering on an exposed tor, all before lunch!

A lot of outdoor clothing is designed to solve one extreme brilliantly; our challenge was to create something that could handle all of it. That's why we built Manumit around merino wool, fabric that breathes when you're hot, insulates when you're cold, even when wet, and resists odour after days of wear. Clothing that earns its place on your back, whatever the weather throws at you.

Crucially, designing for versatility doesn't mean compromising at the extremes. Those same properties make merino an exceptional layer in Arctic cold and brilliant in hot, dry environments.

We also wanted that versatility to go beyond the outdoors too, because adventures often end at the pub, start on the school run or involve grabbing a coffee on the way. So we deliberately design our clothing to perform in the wild without looking out of place when you aren't.

No unnecessary technical detailing.
No excessive branding.
No looking like you've just come down from Everest when you're ordering a pint!

Designed for Britain. Capable of anything you can throw at it.
