The origins of merino wool

The Manumit Dartmoor 50!

This Summer, in collaboration with the Dartmoor Outdoor Festival and Dartmoor Search & Rescue we are holding the very first Manumit Dartmoor 50.

Two routes to choose from: a 50mile/80km route based on the historic ‘Dartmoor Perambulation’, one of the oldest established long distance routes in Britain. Or a shortened 50km/32mile option.

The routes both begin and end in Princetown, the highest village in Dartmoor National Park and wind their way through its landscape of high moorland tors, forests, rivers and valleys scattered with Bronze Age stone circles, Neolithic tombs and ancient ruins.

This won't be flat and fast, but it will be a proper adventure through one of Britains last great wildernesses.

We’re really excited to be showcasing trail running on Dartmoor during the festival. The routes are real classics which will hopefully become a staple in our yearly calendar (and yours)!

For the first ever Manumit Dartmoor 50 (The Pioneers Edition!) places are strictly limited to 150 people only. That is the total number across both distances.

 Lower fees for the trailblazers who sign-up quickly! First 50 tickets: 50km £65 | 50miles £75 Second batch of 50 tickets: 50km £85 | 50miles £95 Last 50 tickets: 50km £95 | 50miles £105.

By purchasing a ticket, alongside supporting Dartmoor Search and Rescue, £2.00 goes directly to Donate for Dartmoor to help maintain Dartmoor’s network of footpaths and bridleways and to support conservation projects on the moor.

It should be a great weekend with loads of activities going on at the festival for the non ultra-runners among you so it would be great to see you there regardless!
