Terms & Conditions of Entry

By entering the Manumit Dartmoor 50 (“the Event”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

 1.⁠ ⁠Acknowledgement of Risk

The Manumit Dartmoor 50 is a 50 mile or 50 kilometre ultra marathon across exposed, remote moorland terrain within Dartmoor National Park.

By entering, you acknowledge that:

Ultra running is inherently dangerous.

The Event involves significant physical exertion.

The terrain includes uneven ground, bog, river crossings, tors, livestock, open moorland, and remote sections.

Weather conditions may change rapidly and without warning.

Access for emergency services may be delayed due to location and terrain.

You accept that participation carries risk of serious injury, hypothermia, falls, illness, permanent disability or death.

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

 2.⁠ ⁠Fitness, Experience & Medical Declaration

By entering, you confirm that:

You have sufficient experience, skill, navigation competence and physical conditioning to safely undertake the ultra distance that you have entered which is either the 50-mile or the 50-kilometre self-navigated ultra marathon.

You have completed the stated qualifying criteria.

You are medically fit and free from any condition that may increase risk.

You have not been advised by a medical professional to avoid endurance events.

You are not participating while under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or performance-enhancing substances.

You accept full responsibility for monitoring your own health before and during the Event.

Manumit Apparel Ltd accepts no responsibility for undisclosed medical conditions.

 3.⁠ ⁠Self-Sufficiency & Personal Responsibility

This is a semi-supported ultra marathon.

By entering, you acknowledge that:

You are responsible for your own safety at all times.

You must carry mandatory kit at all times.

You must be capable of independent navigation using GPX and or map/compass.

You are responsible for your own pacing, hydration, fuelling and decision-making.

Failure to carry mandatory kit or follow the official route may result in disqualification.

 4.⁠ ⁠Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Manumit Apparel Ltd, its directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, event partners, landowners and sponsors shall not be liable for:

Personal injury or death (except where caused by proven negligence)

Loss or damage to personal property

Financial loss

Travel or accommodation costs

Route changes

Event cancellation

Participation is entirely at your own risk.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Manumit Apparel Ltd and associated parties against any claims arising from your participation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

 5.⁠ ⁠Route Changes & Event Alterations

Manumit reserves the right to:

Amend the route

Alter start times

Adjust checkpoint locations

Modify cut-off times

Impose mandatory kit changes

Pause or stop the Event

This may occur due to weather, land access, safety concerns, emergency services advice or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Such changes do not entitle participants to a refund.

 6.⁠ ⁠Force Majeure

If the Event is cancelled, delayed or modified due to:

Severe weather

Natural disaster

Fire

Flood

Government restriction

Public health emergency

Land access withdrawal

Acts of God

Civil disturbance

Manumit shall not be liable for any resulting loss.

Entry fees are non-refundable except at organiser discretion.

 7.⁠ ⁠Disqualification

Manumit reserves the right to disqualify or remove any participant for:

Route deviation or shortcutting

Failing to pass digital checkpoints

Failing to carry mandatory kit

Accepting unauthorised pacing or support

Dangerous behaviour

Abuse of staff, volunteers or participants

Environmental damage or littering

Acting in a manner that brings the Event into disrepute

Race Director decisions are final.

 8.⁠ ⁠Environmental & Land Access Compliance

Dartmoor is a protected landscape.

By entering, you agree to:

Follow the Countryside Code

Respect livestock and wildlife

Leave no trace

Avoid damaging walls, gates, paths or sensitive terrain

Comply with landowner restrictions

Failure to do so may result in removal from the Event.

 9.⁠ ⁠GPS Tracking & Data

All participants will carry a GPS tracking device.

By entering, you consent to:

Live public tracking of your location during the Event

Use of anonymised performance data for event analysis

Publication of results

Failure to return the tracker may result in replacement charges.

10.⁠ ⁠Photography & Media Rights

By entering, you grant Manumit Apparel Ltd the right to:

Use photographs and video footage taken during the Event

Use your name, image and likeness for promotional purposes

Use race results publicly

No compensation will be payable for such use.

11.⁠ ⁠Entry Integrity

Entries are personal and non-transferable without written organiser consent.

False information may result in cancellation.

Participants must complete their own registration.

Race numbers must not be swapped.

12.⁠ ⁠Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by English Law.

The Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

13.⁠ ⁠Acceptance

By completing registration and payment, you confirm that:

You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.

You accept all risks inherent in ultra marathon participation.

You agree to be bound by all Event rules and organiser decisions.
